Matthew Smit, knows a thing or two about patience and persistence. As the marketing manager for Insomniac and producer & Co-founder of Minimal Sessions, with Tyler Rouse, Smit, who goes by his industry name, “Shmitty,” opens up to Love Story about his process pushing through from the grind into the LA techno industry. He also gives his insight about how the industry is beginning to open up about mental health topics like depression and anxiety.

Interviewed by the Founder of Love Story, Mingjie Zhai, Shmitty reflects on his transformational moments, including the long hours of being alone which gave him the space to tap into his artistry to keep producing.
