The Love Story behind The Butterfly Collection
Meet Marisabel Bazan
Panamanian singer and artist, Marisabel Bazan, creates city murals she calls the Butterfly Collection.
“Art is anything you can make beautiful…is letting your silence speak.”
Initially, in response to grief, Marisabel expresses feelings of loss through paint. Due to losing a close friend to suicide, she saw butterflies as an appropriate symbol. As a result, butterflies sprung up all over cities as Marisabel shared her murals.
“Butterflies represent a transformation of a human soul…Every time I’m doing a butterfly I’m actually transforming somebody’s soul…butterflies are free. They’re delicate.”
