The Love Story behind Boomerang

Meet Chelsea Williams

Raised by a single mom, Chelsea Williams’ music illustrates her resilience and ability to “boomerang.” Similarly, Chelsea’s talent catapulted her life past the low income neighborhood she grew up in. In spite of struggling, Chelsea’s music paid for her education and livelihood.

Through busking she caught the attention of her first record deal. However, that relationship was not fruitful. They wanted Chelsea to produce music outside of her identity. Nonetheless, Chelsea remained committed to herself. So, that relationship ended.

Which, unfortunately, developed mistrust in the industry for Chelsea. Leading her to take a break from musical dreams. Eventually, however, Chelsea paired with a label willing to cater to her soulful country-rock style.

“Boomerang” is Chelsea’s comeback song. Her comeback from the rejection and turmoil of her first deal, but also the tenacity she developed from her childhood. Consequently, “Boomerang” is Chelsea’s way of taking back her artistic control.

“There’s always gonna be a light at the end of the tunnel. That even if it seems bleak in this moment, the next moment could bring something entirely different, and joyful and happy…never forget to value yourself, never forget to trust yourself and your instincts…”
